The Town of Pilot Mountain has one wastewater treatment plant located at 601 Lynchburg Road, NPDES Permit # NC0026646. The permitted capacity of the plant is 1.5 million gallons per day. The average daily flow is currently .220 MGD. The raw influent is treated by an aerobic oxidation ditch, two final clarifiers and is then disinfected by applying chlorine gas before final effluent discharge to the Ararat River. 

The wastewater treatment personnel are committed to treating the Town of Pilot Mountain’s

residential, commercial, and industrial wastewater to a safe quality level that meets or

exceeds state and federal regulations.
