General Fund Rates & Fees

The General Fund is is used to account for most of the services that are provided by the Town including Police, street maintenance, snow removal, planning & zoning, etc.  For the most part, these services are funded by the tax rate and the Town's share of certain State collected revenues such as the sales tax, utility franchise tax, and gas tax.  However, there are some things that the Town charges the end user a fee for.  This includes planning and zoning services, the sale of cemetery plots, the use of Town facilities, etc.  These fees help to offset the costs of providing these services.  Please click on the link below for a copy of the current fee schedule for the Town.

In addition to the General Fund, the Town also operates the Water & Sewer Fund.  The Water and Sewer fund pays all of the costs of operating the Town's water and sewer systems and is funded totally by the rates paid by the Town's customers.  The Water & Sewer fund operates just like any other business and has to generate enough revenue to fund current operations, debt service, and to fund future capital projects.  The Board of Commissioners and the Town staff work very hard to control our costs and strategically plan for our water and sewer infrastructure projects so that the cost of these services does not get out of control.  Please click here for a comparison of the Town's water and sewer rates to other similarly sized municipalities.  Please click on the link below for a copy of the current fee schedule for the Town.
