About Armfield Civic & Recreation Center
The Armfield Civic & Recreation Center houses the Town of Pilot Mountain's Parks & Recreation Department. To locals, it is known as the Armfield Civic Center (ACC). Located at 873 W 52 BYPASS PILOT MOUNTAIN NC 27041, The Armfield Civic Center offers a 40,000+sqft indoor fitness and recreation center complete with a: basketball court, weight room, cardio room, junior sized Olympic indoor pool, warm water pool, and indoor track. Outdoor facilities include: a basketball court, 4 baseball/softball fields, 3 batting cages, fenced playground, picnic shelter with public restrooms, outdoor walking track, and 18 hole disc golf course. The Armfield Civic Center is also home to Nelson Acres, a 115 acre naturel area with walking trails and camping sites.
The Armfield Civic & Recreation Center was founded as a result of strong community collaboration in 1986. A new facility was built in 2002 by a local nonprofit, the Pilot Mountain Foundation Inc.. After being awarded the Rural Transformation Grant Fund (RTGF) in 2022, The Town of Pilot Mountain purchased the Armfield Civic & Recreation Center property and established a formal Parks & Recreation Department to oversee operations. The Town and all of our community are incredibly grateful to the handwork and dedication from all of those who helped make the center what it is today- an invaluable community asset.
Pilot Mountain Parks & Recreation Department offer the following programs: swimming, soccer, basketball, fitness classes, childcare
Senior Services, little league baseball and softball, and youth football and cheerleading are programs provided in collaboration with community partners.
